Mine has a low hum just loud enough to be annoying. Can just hear it over the TV volume. Bothers my dog, too. Anyone else have this noise?
I have the hum as well. It is not bad and I hardly hear it. There is a posting under the support section that walks you through dissasembly of the unit and applying grease to the gears. This may reduce resistance and reduce the motor hum.
I’ve noticed that slower speeds (20-30% max) gets rid of the sound almost completely.
Same here, when on full speed, the noise is rather loud and irritating.
I had to turn it to slowest ball speed to reduce the noice. I can still hear it, but at least I cannot hear it annymore when the tv is on. Still not really possible to relax while watching the pattern being made. Hope it will get more silent after a few days. (Only have it since yesterday) I guess the lube got a bit hard while it stood for a while in the warehouse waiting to get expedited to Europe. If the noise keeps up, I’ll try to contact support for the lube trick.
I can also hear the vibrations. I tried to put it on some dampening material … but this is not a good idea. The bottom of the device gets quite hot and preventing this heat from escaping might have some bad effect on the long term.
