Hello! I received an Oasis Mini last week as a gift. It worked great out of the box, but after a few patterns, I started to have some of the same warping problems that others have noticed. My unit also will not do “spiral out to in” anymore and instead just traces the outer perimeter over and over. Having gone through most of the threads and compared my Mini’s drawings to others, the patterns mine is drawing are exact matches to the warped ones I’ve seen here - which tells me it’s a software/firmware issue more than anything else. (A relief, because no way am I opening it up unless I absolutely have to!) I submitted a ticket Thursday or Friday before the update came out.
I also just noticed there is a little bubbling on the outside wood panel, as others have noticed. I wouldn’t have noticed it if others hadn’t pointed it out, though. Going to guess it’s from sitting on a hot delivery truck during shipping.
The update seems to have helped a little (certain patterns are working now, whereas last Thursday none of them were coming out clear)… however I now have a couple of new problems.
One - it doesn’t go all the way to the outer edge anymore for most patterns.
Two - after running it successfully over the weekend, this morning I cannot get it to work. It keeps giving me 16 red LEDs and I’m not sure what this means. I’ve reset it via the button on the back (8 seconds), but every time it tries to center, it eventually stops and throws an error on the app (“Mini could not center, we will reboot your device”) along with the red lights. I am going to fully power cycle it by unplugging it to see if that helps, but does anyone have any advice, or even just guidance as to what the number of red lights means?
I have the Mini plugged into a USB hub, maybe it needs to go directly into the wall?
Update: a power cycle did not help.
