Cant connect to the device

ive done all the trouble-shooting possible and read all the threads here, but still cant solve my problem. when i have a blue ring, i try to set up the app and after entering the password, i get the rainbow ring but the app gives me an error and says it wasnt added to my account correctly. i try again while its still rainbow and then it says it cant join network “OasisMini” (i assume thats because blue ring is connection mode). so next i hold the button for a few seconds and power off then power on to get the blue ring again and same thing over and over.
ive connected the oasis to my computer and updated the firmware and the iphone app is up to date as well. at one point (cant remember if it was before or after the firmware update) i got the yellow box that says it was added but not accessible and try again, but then nothing and i still have the same problem.
the only time ive ever seen the marble move is when its unplugged and plugged back in while in rainbow mode. the marble will move a really small half circle in the center then stop.
i bought 2 of these and one is a gift. i want to make sure i can get mine working so i can help trouble shoot my friend’s if she has a similar problem. please help!

Thanks for all of the troubleshooting you did with this! Can you tell me more about your WiFi router? We’ve seen a few specific routers that seem to cause issues.

hey! thanks for the swift reply! the modem/router is the one that came with the isp. its installed in the ceiling so i dont know the brand/model, but i assume its TP-Link. i have another router thats Linksys, but i get the same problems from that as well. both routers have 2.4 and 5ghz channels and ive tried the 2.4 channels on both of them since the oasis doesnt detect the 5ghz.

Hmm, okay it’s good to know that you get the same issue with both routers. The one that I know we’ve seen issues with is the Nighthawk routers, but I’m sure that’s not what your ISP installed by default. Can you send me a message with the serial number of your Oasis Mini? It’s on a sticker on the bottom of your Mini. Just be careful with the sand!

I have been having the same issue exactly as you described. Mine worked fine for weeks until I left it unplugged for weekend and ever since I have the same issues. I’ve tried two different mobile wifi (AT&T mifi) that both previously connected as well as my office wifi networks.

@YourNameHere004 @Treyplus20 We have identified a possible issue on our server that could be causing this problem. Could you please try to connect to your Oasis Mini. Please let me know if the problem is solved. Thank you

its alive!!! cool, thank you for the quick fix for this! got a playlist running and seems good. just a question:
occasionally i hear some sounds from inside. not the light motor hum, but like a series of clicks every 30-40 seconds. sounds like a mechanical arm getting stuck on something or an unoiled joint opening/closing. is this expected?
thanks again for the help!

So I tried as you suggested. I was able to add the Mini and complete the setup, and then the app immediately began to download an update. Once the update was completed, the app froze for several minutes and then shut down. I rebooted the app and had the same problem (could not connect). I noticed that sometimes my app would show the mini under my devices, sometimes it would be blank, sometimes it would open and have me logged in already, sometimes I would have to relog in through my google login.

I got the same “device not added to your account correctly” error message every time but I did notice that the ball had moved back to the center.

I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it. I noticed that then all of the text in the app to login was blank but the buttons to click for google/apple/etc were there so I went through the login process for google which again looked like it froze. I forgot about it for several minutes and then checked again and saw it had logged me in and the mini was connected and working like normal, albeit as if it was a day 1 install. So it seems like everything is working like it should be now. I just wanted to let you know the steps and issues I noticed in case it help you figure out what was going wrong or helps someone else get theirs working.

Thanks for the follow up, so glad it’s working again!

I’m also unable to connect. I’m trying to connect at work. I’m putting in my password and it says it can’t log in. Then it asks if I want to connect to temporary Wi-Fi but doesn’t let me.

I’m having the exact same issue. I’ve done the firmware upgrade as well.

Thanks.

I have two. I set one up at home with no problems. The other I brought to work and when I try to add another device in the app, it says to make sure it’s plugged in and turned on. The Oasis is showing with blue lights but the app isn’t recognizing it. Help!

We also just released an app update that corrects common connection issues, so please make sure you’re on the latest app.

This is really concerning. I understand needing online access to download new patterns, firmware updates, etc. but why should server problems prevent the device from working at all? Is there no offline/local mode?
